Welded Steel Bars
The Standard In The Industry

We have invested thousands of dollars into state of the art welding equipment so we can manufacture our own steel bars in our own facility. Because we do our own manufacturing, we are able to offer many different sizes and bar spacing's to accommodate all birds, and we can also ensure that all of our bars are safe (no toxins). We insist on using only state of the art welders so we can deliver one of the strongest welds available. All of our cages are constructed to withstand the day to day behaviors of even the strongest of birds. We back this up with our LIFETIME WARRANTY on wood chewing (from the inside of the cage) and broken welds. The best warranty in the business.

Our Powdercoat.... Lead and Zinc Free

The real trick to finding a great long lasting product is finding the right powder coater. Our choice is CR Metals in St. Louis, MO. They have invested millions of dollars into their line of equipment that will scrub and dry, the most important of seven steps. The bar is acid cleaned and even blown dry. The result is a uniform, durable, high-quality, long lasting, and attractive finish. This is not a cheap process, but it is the absolute best, even for the largest macaws. Feel free to visit their website at www.CMetals.com

Stainless Steel Bars.... Lead and Zinc Free

We only use the highest quality stainless steel on our bird cages. It is US made, 304 medical grade, architectural polished (high shine) stainless steel bars. They will never rust or pit. They are very easily cleaned by using a biodegradable soap and water solution.

American Hardwoods

We use only kiln dried American Hardwoods. We stock red oak, maple, American Black Cherry wood, and when available, Black Walnut. Other hardwoods are sometimes available; call us if you have a wish. We hand select our hardwoods for grain character and beauty, eliminating as much sap wood and knots as possible. The end result is a fine furniture style bird cage.

Tempered Glass

When our customers want a fixed glass panel on a section of our cage, we recommend and will install tempered glass. Because birds have access to these panels you will want to use tempered, it will always be clear. It is a safety glass and will not scratch and get the little scuff marks in it like acrylics do, especially with birds hitting it with their toys. Over time, acrylics will get a dull or dirty look and that cannot be removed. Tempered is a superior material over acrylics. Tempered glass is the preferred choice by the NBA, NCAA and most gymnasiums to be used as basketball backboards, because of its strength and clarity. Any panel of a bird cage can be replaced with tempered glass.

Laminated Bottoms and Shelves-Protects your bird cage from water damage "ANOTHER UPGRADE" from Avian Accents (standard on all cages)

Our laminated bottoms and shelves are constructed from Formica, the same material that is commonly found on kitchen countertops. Anywhere there is a litter pan; there will be a Formica shelf or bottom below it. It is professionally applied, and it will protect your cage against water damage from bathing and water bottles. We continuously strive to product the finest bird cages in the industry.

Casters

We use a 2" or 3" commercial style caster. The size will vary according to the cage. These rubber wheels will roll over hardwood, tile, and even carpet! They are standard on most cages. They are not available on leg based models.

Finish

A fine furniture finish is designed to "enhance and protect the natural beauty of the wood". Finish can be divided into four areas, color, look, feel, and protection. At Avian Accents we hand finish in multiple stages, and protect with four layers of pre-catalyzed lacquer which is sprayed-on with our state of the art commercial equipment. It is always hand-sanded between coats to produce a lustrous satin-smooth finish. This process allows the clarity of the wood grains to show through and the hues blend together to create a warm, soft, and sophisticated look.

Glazing

Some people like the look and charm of antique furniture. Glazing is an optional, special finish technique intended to make furniture look like a fine antique piece of furniture.

Assembly

All of our cages are built using our TRADEMARK LOCKING JOINT. This joint allows our cages to go together efficiently and seamlessly without compromising the strength or quality of our designs. When you view the DVD, you will see us standing in them and on top of them, so you will know they are as strong as or stronger than any other well-built piece of furniture you may have. Single cages have no screws at all (this is not an easy task), and the double wide's have a total of 8. This assembly process is demonstrated on our DVD; you will see that most cages only take minutes to assemble.

These cages are well-built, strong pieces of furniture. May we emphasize again, that more than 1/3 of our business comes from repeat customers.

Warranty Information

All of our bird cages carry a Lifetime Warranty on broken welds and wood chewing from the inside of the cage. Obviously, we are able to warranty our products for life, because they are so well made.
